The accolades for the Mini continue to roll in. Recently named the 2003 North American Car of the Year by 50 journalists from the U.S. and Canada, the Mini helped parent BMW to a record sales year by adding 24,000 units to the 2002 tally. "We not only achieved all the strategic targets we set ourselves, we overachieved them," Ganal said.
